Metaphor

Pluck one flower one time and the rest come easy.

Sure the first pull might make you feel a little queasy,

but once you see a lilac bunch in your kitchen

you get the sense that was exactly what was missing

all along: purple stems dipped in fresh water sitting

in the middle of the table. Of course, it’s not the flower

we’re talking about here but the actualization of power.

The satisfaction of seeking what pleases and making it stay.

Smell them? Not touching would have been such a shame.

What else would you like me to do with this beautiful vase?
