april morning

random bells sing to a sea of birds

floating in a blue-green stream

as the glorious shadows of the woodland

drown in a plague of sunshine

but where is the man

who loved the holy poet?

condemned to the warmth of the dead

the passion in my heart

a pain of beauty

awaits its unfolding in a deep silent loam

wet with the tears of morning
